Leaked Private Video of Egungun of Lagos Viral, Wife’s Response Called ‘Understanding but Challenging’
Kuye Adegoke, aka Egungun of Lagos, Nigeria, is facing widespread criticism after a video leaked on social media, which has since gone viral.
The video shows him brushing his teeth, talking to an unidentified woman, and simultaneously flashing his genitals to her.
Egungun of Lagos Faces Criticism After Private Video Leaked
Nigerians have berated the media personality and labelled his act as inappropriate.
Interestingly, Kuye Adegoke’s wife, Pashotah, has come to his defence and stated that her husband’s private videos were leaked as part of a blackmail attempt to extort money.
Kuye Adegoke’s wife took to Facebook to defend her husband and stated,
“Hi guys, someone is blackmailing me with my husband’s videos. My name is Pashotah, and y’all know who my husband is. Obviously, I know so many people have wanted to bring both of us down, including guys and girls. I always choose to ignore, but I’m not ignoring today because the blackmailer didn’t go to Egungun of Lagos directly to blackmail him. Instead, he came to me because he has a motive of putting me to shame, as he stated in his messages above. But one thing he (the blackmailer) doesn’t know is that this relationship between myself and my husband was not just built today. It has been going for over 6-8 years when we both had nothing. This relationship is built on trust, understanding, loyalty, commitment, and many more. So there is nothing that can bring us down, not even now.”
However, her lengthy statement on social media has not calmed the frayed nerves of netizens, who have taken to social media to question Egungun’s earlier image as a family-oriented man.
Many have also labelled Kuye Adegoke’s actions as a betrayal of his wife’s unwavering faith in him.
However, there were many who questioned the authenticity of the video and wondered if it was manipulated to tarnish the image of the social media personality.
Many netizens also questioned the status of Nigerian women as compared to men. One netizen wrote,
“So Egungun’s wife watched that video and still had the temerity to come out and defend him? I thought we all agreed that Nigerian women now know their worth. Where was she when that decision was made?”
Another user stated,
“Egungun’s wife is the perfect definition of an understanding wife.”
Egungun of Lagos has not reacted to the controversy.
