Lord Jamar Apologizes After Backlash for Using Derogatory Language Towards Kamala Harris in Recent Video

Lord Jamar a.k.a. Lorenzo Dechalus sparked a huge outrage when he made some obnoxious comments about Vice President and Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

The rapper and one of the founding members of the band Brand Nubian was making an appearance on The Art of Dialogue podcast when he made objectionable comments about Kamala Harris, calling her a bitch and someone who is not fit to work at Dunkin’ Donuts.

Lord Jamar’s comments quickly ignited a furious backlash, with many critics accusing Jamar of crossing the red line of decency and using misogynistic language. Many critics argued that this is not the way to express political disagreements with Harris. The controversy was soon followed by Jamar being confronted by political commentator Marc Lamont Hill on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show about the obnoxious nature of his comments.

After facing massive criticism, Jamar issued a public apology and expressed deep regret for using offensive language toward the Vice President. He stated,

“As a man, I’m going to admit when I was wrong, and that I did cross the line. Yes, I shouldn’t have called her the names that I called her… it definitely was cringe-worthy.”

He added,

“We have to really be mindful of where our words can travel to… like a bullet, once you release them, it’s hard to take them back. She is Madam Vice President, whether we like it or not, and that’s how she should be addressed.”

Lord Jamar, a Diehard Donald Trump Supporter

Lord Jamar has often praised former US President Donald Trump and also claimed that his tough and macho gangster persona ensured that there was no war. Jamar has in the past made scathing comments about Kamala Harris and her supporters. With the US Presidential polls just around the corner, Harris’s campaign is deeply worried about the ability to garner support from the general public, particularly among Black voters.

Kamala Harris has tried on her campaign trail to enlist support from these two crucial segments of the American population. However, many commentators like radio host Charlamagne Tha God and actor Eddie Griffin have expressed concerns and feel that Harris is faltering while US President Donald Trump has been able to draw attention from Black men.
