Lulu Food Park to be set up in Greater Noida

Greater Noida Authority CEO Narendra Bhooshan has given a possession letter of setting up Lulu Food Park to Yusuf Ali MA, Fair India Exports Company CMD. This will be an important step towards building the state’s largest food processing plant.

As per reports, the food park will be the largest in the state and is all set to be built in Ecotech-10 of Greater Noida spreading over 20 acres. The initial investment, in the project, will be Rs 500 crore and is most likely to be finished by next year. “The food park will provide several opportunities to the youth and farmers of this region. Direct employment generation through the park is slated at 700, while 1,000 indirect jobs will be created. Farmers will also get a good price for their produce. The food park will have the facility to process fruits and vegetables through the most modern means and will package them for export,” stated a government spokesperson.
The Food Park will have a storage space of 20,000 tonnes for edible items such as agricultural produce, milk as well as ready-to-eat packaged food. Although most of the foods stored here are meant to be exported to central Asian countries along with other European countries. According to Bhushan, the Lulu food park will help in boosting the farming sector of India. “Farmers will be able to get a better price for their produce as they will be able to store their crops and sell at higher prices,” he said.
In Lucknow, the Lulu Group has constructed the largest mall in north India. The project is worth Rs 2,000 crore. The mall has been built over a land of 11 acres and will generate 10,000 indirect jobs and 5,000 direct jobs.
