Who is Max Major, and Why Is His “Prank” on Kai Cenat Controversial?
Kai Cenat is a well-known Twitch streamer, and his ongoing Mafiathon 2 has seen several personalities, originators, and characters participate.
However, his latest inclusion is Max Major—a magician and a mentalist by trade.
For most, a magician is a person who is endowed with reading minds, and this fact is also emphasized by Major’s official website, which touts that he is an expert in “reading body language.”
For the unversed, Max Major is not a pushover and has a million subscribers. He first became prominent in the 15th season of America’s Got Talent in 2020.
The post-pandemic years were a period of indecision and trepidation, and Max Major earned the distinction of being crowned as the first person to make it from an online audition to the finals. He boasts over 426K followers on his Instagram handle (@itsmaxmajor).
Coming to the connection between Kai Cenat and Major, the latter had featured in the former’s live stream. At that time, Major had performed a trick on Cenat and rapper G Herbo in a May 2023 Livestream, which had shocked both.
However, Major and Cenat have been involved in a major altercation and controversy. The controversy is related to the latest appearance of Major on Kai Cenat’s channel. It was his third appearance on Kai Cenat’s channel.
Major performed a trick that involved him placing his head in a loop while Cenat controlled which rope to pull. However, the stunt went wrong, and when Cenat pulled the rope, it was the wrong one, and Major almost choked. The show was abruptly stopped.
The stunt went wrong, and Cenat and the rest of the crew, which also included Sexyy Red, who was a guest on Mafiathon 2, were shocked and disturbed. Later, Max Major uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel titled “A Message to Kai Cenat,” in which he outlined his intentions.
He said that he anticipated Cenat would try to do something smart and deliberately planned the trick so that Cenat would choose the “wrong” rope.

He said:
“You wanted to see me fail, and I thought tonight, I will give you exactly what you asked for. You thought the game was for me to influence you to make the right choice, but all along, I planned to influence you to make the wrong choice, and I knew you’d pick the wrong handle.”
However, Major’s effort to clear the air did not impress Cenat and his fans, who derided the magician for the trick, which was unsettling for many. Fans also demanded that Major reappear on the stream and tender an unconditional apology.
