Maha on track to achieve $1 Trillion economy, says Ajit Pawar
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced on Tuesday that the state is on track to achieve a $1 Trillion economy soon. He presented the Interim Budget 2024-2025, highlighting key proposals such as a new Micro and Small Enterprises Policy and the establishment of industrial parks and hubs for small-scale industries.
Ajit Pawar disclosed plans to set up five industrial parks, renovate the Mirkarwada Fishing Port, and allocate Rs 300 crore for the Bhagwat Port in Ratnagiri. Additionally, the government will work on improving 7,000 kms of roads, expanding the railway network, and seeking UNESCO World Heritage status for 11 Maratha forts.
Furthermore, the government aims to provide solar energy sets to 37,000 Anganwadis and 850,000 new solar agriculture pumps to farmers. Ajit Pawar announced allocations of Rs 19,000 crore for public works, Rs 10,000 crore for urban development, and the construction of Maharashtra Bhavans in Srinagar and Ayodhya.
A significant proposal involves building a sea bridge from Bandra-Versova to Palghar for enhanced connectivity to Mumbai. Ajit Pawar emphasized the government’s commitment to attracting more investments to realize the goal of a $1 Trillion state economy. The state is also set to provide 5,000 pink autorickshaws for women’s employment, one crore water taps under the Har Ghar Jal Yojana, and invest Rs 2,500 crore in flood prevention schemes.
