Mahayuti Candidates and Cadres Advised to Keep Cool and Avoid Controversial Remarks by CM Shinde and Ajit

In a recent Mahayuti rally in Pune, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar advised leaders to refrain from making controversial remarks. This comes after unsavoury statements made by some candidates causing controversy and backlash.

Shinde emphasized the need to focus on winning maximum seats in Maharashtra without reducing the voting margin. He urged Mahayuti candidates to conduct themselves decently to achieve the goal of contributing to Narendra Modi’s third term as Prime Minister.

Ajit Pawar also advised functionaries to maintain politeness and cordial behavior, reminding them not to be arrogant or boastful. The aim is to win more than 45 seats in Maharashtra while upholding the state’s cultural values in public appearances and rallies.

The advice from Shinde and Pawar follows controversial statements by Shiv Sena nominee Sanjay Mandlik, who questioned the royal credentials of Chhatrapati Shrimant Shahu Maharaj. This led to criticism from NCP SP chief Sharad Pawar and demands for an apology from Congress Minister Satej Patil.

Mandlik issued a clarification amidst strong criticism to mitigate potential damage to his electoral prospects. Meanwhile, BJP nominee Sudhir Mungantiwar faced backlash for his references to the 1984 riots in Delhi, prompting the Congress to file a complaint with the Election Commission of India.

Despite Mungantiwar’s attempt to clarify his statements, backlash on social media and criticism from party seniors highlight the need for caution among candidates. The incidents serve as a reminder for Mahayuti leaders to adhere to decorum and avoid contentious remarks that could hinder their electoral chances.
