Leading auto company Mahindra & Mahindra said on Thursday that they are withdrawing 1577 units of its SUV Thar to replace the defective parts of the diesel engine. The company said it will undertake active inspection and replacement of 1577 units of the diesel version of Thar, which were manufactured between September 7 and December 25, 2020.
M&M told stock exchanges that the quality of some of the diesel Thar engines may be affected due to a fault in the setting of a machine at the supplier’s plant at a particular time. The company further said that keeping in view the stringent quality standards, the company has offered inspection and improvement, which is free of charge.
M&M said that affected Thar customers would be contacted personally by the company.
