Malaysia Bans Indonesian Film ‘Siksa Neraka’ Over Controversial Themes

The brand new film, ‘Siksa Neraka’ written by Lele Laila and M.B. Rahimsyah is at the edge of receiving hate and mixed comments. The film faced a ban from premiering in Malaysia and Brunie. Some of the cast in this film include Safira Ratu Sofya, Kiesha Alvaro, Ariyo Wahab, and more.
As soon as it was released in theatres, the Malaysian censor board shoved it with a ban to the audiences. The film got banned because of the brutal and gory scenes it had. Instead of romanticizing everything, the film pictured the world with a touch of naked realism.
‘Siksa Neraka’ Gets Banned In Malaysia and Brunei
There are Twitter reviews about this film where people did not like how the storytelling strategy misdirected the people from the truth. Some also commented that it’s gaslighting and a very wrong way of portraying a religion to the audience.
The film showcased the wrongdoing of Islamic culture and how it continues after death. It had loads of scenes constituting death, gore, blood, tremors, and more, which was not a treat for the eyes. Seever film critiques have a heads up to the film for being raw and unfiltered, while some have expressed their disgust for it.
The film has received a 5.2/10 rating on IMDb from its viewers However due to sensitive content and topic which turns out to be a matter of conflict of interest the film is still banned in Malaysia and Brunie. As ‘Siksa Neraka’ failed to pass the Censor board in Malaysia and Burnie it got Aban from premiering in theatre to normal audiences
The film deals with violent and controversial themes that might affect people in personal and religious ways. For the security of the nation and their belief, the film did not pass to get shown to the audiences.
