Kuala Lumpur, March 2 (IANS) Malaysia has witnessed a surge in dengue cases over the past week, with a total of 3,572 cases reported, according to the Health Ministry. This marks an increase from the 3,483 cases recorded in the previous week. Additionally, two more deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths this year to 16, compared to 14 in the same period last year.

The Health Ministry also noted that two cases of Chikungunya were recorded during the past week. The rise in mosquito-borne illnesses is a cause for concern in the country, as authorities continue to monitor and address the situation. Residents are urged to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of these diseases.
