Man and woman found murdered in UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri

In Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, a man and woman were found dead near a temple, suspected to be lovers. The woman’s face was unrecognizable due to brutalization, while the man had severe head injuries. A pistol and cartridges were found at the scene, with conflicting claims of suicide and murder from the families.

Circle Officer Shamsher Bahadur Singh confirmed the man as Ravindra, 23, from his Aadhaar card. The woman, Uma Bharti, 21, was identified later, with her bicycle found nearby. Superintendent of Police Ganesh Prasad Saha stated that while it appears to be a suicide, other angles are under investigation, pending the post-mortem report and forensic samples collection.
