Who is Matthew Livelsberger? Tesla Cyber Truck Explosion Outside Trump Hotel in Las Vegas Leaves One Dead, Seven Injured

Police have identified Matthew Livelsberger, 37, from Colorado as the prime accused Tesla Cyber Truck explosion outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.

The blast happened on New Year and claimed one life and injured seven others. Investigators have labelled the explosion as an act of terrorism.

Investigations have revealed that Livelsberger had no known ties to organized groups and investigators are trying to ascertain the motives behind the explosion and if there are any links with other terror-related incidents.

According to NBC affiliate KOAA News5, the suspect had several Colorado Springs addresses associated with him.

The explosion happened in the Tesla Cyber Truck and according to the Tesla CEO the robust build of the Truck contained the explosion

As per the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the FBI has searched a townhouse complex located on the eastern side of Colorado Springs in the Stetson Hills neighbourhood.

Social media users have been posting pictures that they claim to be the suspect’s LinkedIn profile.

As per the posts on X, the suspect was an Operations Director and former Special Forces Intelligence Manager with Special Forces experience. However, the media house Times that published the news could not confirm the claims.

The Tesla Cyber Truck drove into the entrance of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas before it exploded. According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the explosion was caused by large fireworks or a bomb which was carried under the bed of the rented Cybertruck. However, the explosion was according to Musk unrelated to the vehicle itself.

Police have advised the citizens of the city to stay away from the site of the explosion. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has also stated that the fire at the hotel has been put out. The police also referred to the confusion of the incident but reiterated that there is no additional imminent threat.

The incident comes close on the heels of a terror attack in which a suspect identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar – a US Army veteran had driven his Ford Electric Pickup Truck into a crowd of New Year revellers in New Orleans killing 15 people and wounding scores of people.

Investigation revealed that the suspect had posted on social media that he was inspired by ISIS ideology and also revealed his intent to kill. The suspect was shot dead by Police when he attempted to deboard the vehicle and flee. The suspect was also shot before he was brought down by the police injuring two policemen though they are stable and out of danger.
