What Happened to Asim Jamil, Son of Maulana Tariq Jamil?
As mentioned above, the son of Maulana Tariq Jamil, Asim Jamil has died an “accidental death”. He was taken to the nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Mohammad Saleem, Mian Channu Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has stated in the media that Asim was taken to Talamba Rural Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead. The body is currently at the hospital.
How Did Asim Jamil Die? Cause of Death
According to Multan’s Regional Police Officer (RPO) Captain (retd) Sohail Chaudhry, “The DPO [district police officer] has seen a CCTV footage that shows Asim Jamil committing suicide.” He shows Asim shooting himself with a gun on his chest. They have sent the footage to the forensic for analysis.
Who was Asim Jamil?
Not much information is available related to his personal life. He was the son of renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil. RPO Chaudhry stated in an interview that he had been struggling mentally for a few months and was a psychiatric patient.
He was on medication for many years. Lately, he was depressed and decided to end his life. He shot himself in the chest with a 30-bore pistol. RPO further added- “Asim asked his domestic help — Imran — to bring the pistol.” He married the girl of his twice but the marriage ended in divorce.
