Mehuli, Anish and Ganga win in National Rifle & Pistol selection trials

India’s Paris Olympic quota holders, Mehuli Ghosh and Anish Bhanwala, shined at the National Rifle/Pistol Selection Trials in Bhopal. Mehuli clinched the gold in women’s 10m air rifle event, while Anish dominated the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event. Army marksman Ganga Singh impressed in men’s 50m rifle 3 position event.

Mehuli Ghosh, from West Bengal, secured gold in the women’s 10m air rifle event, showcasing her brilliance in a tense final. She outperformed her competitors with a total score of 251.6, narrowly edging out local favorite Ashi Chouksey. Anish Bhanwala proved his prowess in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event, establishing himself as India’s top shooter in the category.

Army marksman Ganga Singh stole the show in the men’s 50m rifle 3 position event, comfortably leading the field with a score of 458.5. Singh’s exceptional performance left his competitors trailing behind, with Goldie Gurjar finishing second. The National Rifle/Pistol Selection Trials will continue till March 1, with more finals scheduled in the coming days.
