Men’s Hockey Vice-Captain Hardik Singh Aims to Defend Asian Champions Trophy Title and be the Best

The Indian men’s hockey team vice-captain Hardik Singh expressed the team’s goal of defending their title at the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy in Hulunbuir City, China. The tournament will take place from September 8-17, with teams from China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, and India competing.

Hardik Singh highlighted the significance of the Asian Champions Trophy, stating that the team aims to solidify its position as the best team in Asia and eventually become the best team in the world. India emerged victorious in the previous edition held in Chennai in 2023, showcasing their progress under Chief Coach Craig Fulton.

Reflecting on the team’s performance in the last tournament, Hardik praised the team’s adaptation to a new style of play and credited Mental Trainer Paddy Upton for their success. He emphasized the team’s resilience in the face of challenges, particularly in the final against Malaysia where they came from behind to win the gold medal.
