The U.S. President was answering questions while departing from Joint Base Andrews in Washington, D.C., regarding the Gaza hostage situation when the incident occurred.

President Donald Trump was visibly irritated but sarcastically remarked that the reporter would become famous that day and predicted that the video would soon go viral.

His prediction came true, as the incident quickly became a trending topic on social media.

While most netizens took the incident humorously, some questioned how the boom microphone managed to get so close to the President’s face. Others even called for enhanced security measures for the U.S. President.

A boom microphone, also known as a ‘dead cat’ due to its furry covering, is designed to block wind noise and improve audio quality. It is commonly used to capture the U.S. President’s voice, especially when his official aircraft is about to take off, as it helps filter out engine noise.

On Friday, the U.S. President addressed the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He touched on a number of topics, including Indiana Hoosiers coach, the late Bobby Knight. Trump praised Knight, who had been a vocal supporter of Trump since his first presidential campaign in 2016.

Trump also criticized the U.S. media for always portraying him in a negative light, specifically singling out CNN and MSNBC, describing their actions as illegal.
