Mielle Beauty CEO Monique Rodriguez Clarifies To ‘Hair Loss’ Allegations

The CEO of beauty brand Mielle, Monique Rodriguez has clarified about speculations about her company’s products. Monique Rodriguez gave this clarification in a video after her brand entered a partnership with P & G corporation. She said there have been no major changes in her position in the business or the product’s ingredients.

Mielle Beauty brands suffered a backlash and there were reports circulating in the social media after several customers complained of alleged loss of hair after using the rosemary and mint oil. However Rodriguez clarified that there have been no changes in the Mielle Beauty products ingredients.

The video which was uploaded on Instagram Monique Rodriguez thanked for the support by the users of her brands. She stated,

“When I made the decision to partner with P&G, it was driven by my vision to take Mielle to new heights, and become a global beauty brand. That vision remains as strong as ever today.  I am so grateful for the opportunities this partnership has brought us. This partnership has allowed us to expand our reach, and make a positive impact in the world.”

Rodriguez also urged the users to compare the ingredients to those back in 2022. The deal between Mielle Beauty and P&G was finalized in January 2023.

A beauty expert’s video in which she claimed that Mielle rosemary and mint hair oil cause hair loss went viral on social media.

She added that a lot of people have contacted her with stories that they suffered hair breakage, experienced scalp irritations and massive hair loss. The beauty experts also alleged that there can be no other reason but P&G changing the formula after the partnership.

Monique Rodriguez also underlined the company’s achievements post its partnership with P&G and also stated that Mielle is now the first official textured hair care brand to partner with the WNBA and it also supported HBCU athletic teams at both Howard University and Florida A&M.

Rodriguez reassured its consumers that she remains 100% involved in all aspects of the business of  Mielle Beauty  including the creation  of products to its packaging and distribution.

“My involvement in Mielle as the CEO still, is a personal choice.”

Mielle Beauty was founded by Monique Rodriguez in 2014 and has steadily grown in popularity especially among the Black community.
