Moscow, Russia Terror Attack: Over 60 Killed, Islamic State (ISIS) Claims Responsibility, and a Timeline of Terror Attacks in Russia
After a hiatus Russia has been again hit by a massive terrorist attack and more than 93 people have been killed and many more injured.
Terrorists struck at the Crocus City Hall, a music hall in Moscow where a concert was taking place and had an attendance of 6200 people. The attackers have also set fire to the Concert Hall.
The terror attack is a major challenge for President Vladimir Putin who had just won a massive victory in the country’s elections recently.
World leaders including U.S. president Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the dastardly terror attack and expressed solidarity with the government and the people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief
The terror group Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the terror attack. It is not clear if the terrorists have been neutralized. Russian Special Forces have entered the building and carried out flushing operations.
News agencies have also reported that the roof of the building has collapsed due to the fire.
Unconfirmed reports say that the attackers have fled the scene in multiple vehicles. The guards at the concert hall were not armed and could not resist the attackers.

Apartment building bombed, 118 dead (1999)
A Bomb exploded in an eight storey building on September 13, 1999 killing 118 people. It was the deadliest of the attacks in a period of two weeks which killed 293 people. The attack is believed to have been carried out by Chechen separatists.
Theater Attack, 130 dead (2002)
A group of 21 male and 19 female Chechen rebels stormed, 2002 during and took more than 800 people hostage lasted for two days before security forces stormed the building using anesthetic gas to neutralize the terrorists. 130 hostages were killed mostly due to choking.
Rock concert attack, 15 dead (2003)
To female suicide bombers thought to be Chechen separatists blew themselves at a rock concert at the Tushino airfield near Moscow, killing 15 people and injuring around 50 others.
Metro bombing, 41 dead (2004)
Chechen rebels detonated a bomb at a packed Moscow subway station during rush hour on February 6, 2004 killing 41 people.
Metro suicide attack, 40 dead (2010)
On March 29, 2010, two female suicide bombers thought to be Chechen separatists blew themselves on the Moscow subway killing 41 people. The target of the attack was believed to be beside the headquarters of the FSB intelligence services. The responsibility was taken by Caucasus Emirate group of Chechen rebel leader Doku Umarov
Airport attack, 37 dead (2011)
A suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest detonated himself in the arrivals hall of Moscow Domodedovo international airport on January 24, 2011. The responsibility was taken by the Caucasus Emirate group.
