Namma Yatri introduces new cab services in Bengaluru with transparent fares

Karnataka-based mobility app, Namma Yatri, has expanded its services by launching cab services in Bengaluru, promising high transparency and efficiency in fare pricing. The company is the first to adopt Karnataka government’s latest pricing guidelines, aiming to eliminate surge pricing during peak hours and ensure fair pricing practices.

Namma Yatri will offer cab services in categories like Non-AC Mini, AC Mini, Sedan, and XL Cab, with plans to extend services to inter-city, rentals, scheduled rides, and more across Karnataka. The company also introduced subscription plans for cabs, offering free rides until October 1, 2024, and charging ₹90 daily for unlimited rides thereafter. Special requests like disability-friendly rides, extra luggage, and pet travel will also be accommodated.

Dr. Ramalinga Reddy, Minister of Transport and Muzrai, Govt. of Karnataka, commended Namma Yatri’s community-centric approach and driver welfare efforts at the cab service launch. CEO Magizhan Selvan emphasized the company’s commitment to driver empowerment through technology, ensuring satisfaction for both drivers and commuters. Namma Yatri aims to onboard over one lakh drivers in the next six months.

The app operates under the ONDC network, providing open data and open-source code, with a zero-commission, direct-to-driver model to increase driver income and enhance vehicle maintenance and customer experiences. With a focus on fast pickups, low cancellations, affordable prices, and reliable service, Namma Yatri aims to deliver top-notch service to customers while supporting the cab driver community.
