Why is this NASA mission historic?
The rover has 25 cameras with two microphones. This 6-wheeled rover will use its 7-foot arm to gather samples of rocks and other information from which questions such as whether there was ever life on Mars.
Scientists believe that if there had ever been life on Mars, it would have been three to four billion years ago, when water flowed on the planet.
Scientists hope that the rover can get an answer to a main question related to philosophy, theology and space science.

Jajero is a basin and scientists believe that an ancient river used to flow there and its silt is deposited there. Scientists believe that the evidence of life in the environment here can be preserved.
‘Perseverance’ is the largest rover ever sent by NASA. This is the ninth Mars mission of the US Space Agency since the 1970s.
