National shooting: Narmada, Neha and Aishwary Tomar win in trials

The National Rifle/Pistol Selection Trials witnessed Tamil Nadu’s R. Narmada Nithin, UP’s Neha, and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar emerging victorious in their respective events on Day 3. Narmada clinched the Women’s 10m Air Rifle T4 trials, Neha won the Women’s 25m Pistol T3 title, and Tomar secured the Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions (3P) T4 match at the M.P. State Shooting Academy in Bhopal on Monday.

Narmada Nithin outshone the competition in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle T4 trials, shooting 251.8 to claim the top spot. She denied local favorite Ashi Chouksey, who finished second, and Rajasthan’s Nisha Kanwar, who secured the third position.

In the Women’s 25m Pistol T4 event, Neha emerged victorious with 31 hits in the final. Olympian Rahi Sarnobat finished in second place with 29 hits, followed by Anisa Sayyed in third place with 22 hits.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar displayed exceptional performance in the Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions (3P) T4 match, scoring a remarkable 466.4 in the final. Tomar’s score surpassed the current world record of 466.1. Navyman Niraj Kumar finished in second place, while Goldie Gurjar secured third place in the trials.
