Navjot Singh Sidhu praises CSK captain MS Dhoni for his exceptional mental strength in IPL 2024

Former India cricketer Navjot Sidhu praised Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s mental fortitude and exceptional abilities, attributing his success at Chennai Super Kings to his strong mindset. Sidhu described Dhoni as a “miracle” player who can quickly switch on and off from cricket, leading CSK to five IPL titles. The defending champions are set to face Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Sidhu highlighted Dhoni’s unique talent in standing firm during high-pressure moments in the last 3-4 overs of a match, crediting his fitness at 42 and mastery of skills like the helicopter shot. “He is very strong mentally, and more so, he looks supremely fit at 42. He is an expert coming in where 3-4 overs remain. So, if you are fit, and if you are prepared to play the game, the helicopter shot and all those things, I feel that it is a miracle that someone like Mahendra Singh Dhoni still stands like a rock of Gibraltar where others have fallen like nine pins,” Sidhu remarked, highlighting Dhoni’s resilience and exceptional skills.

Sidhu’s admiration for Dhoni’s prowess and unmatched capabilities was evident as he lauded the former Indian captain as an “exception to the rule” and a “superstar” in the cricketing world.
