The Ninth Day of Navratri is called Maha Navami or Durga Navami. The day is celebrated as the day of victory of good over evil because on this day Goddess Durga killed demon Mahisasura and his whole army. Let us tell you the whole story in brief. Mahisasura was the son of Rambh, who was the king of all demons at that time. Once Rambh fall in love with a buffalo, and from the meeting of both, Mahisasura was born. As he was the son of humans and Bufello both, so he has the power of getting both forms. Mahisasura was a great devotee of Lord Brahma. Once he did a hard tenacity and got a boon from Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma gave him powers no one has in the whole universe. With the use of his powers, once he attacked the Swarg Loka and prisoned Indra. Worried deities, reached Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shiva. All Deities made the plan of attacking at Mahisasura, but they got defeated by Mahisasura again.
When there was no way left, the Deities worshipped Goddess Durga. Goddess Durga fought with Mahisasura for nine Consecutive days and on the 7th day her one form known as “Maa Kaali” came out from her and killed everyone who came in her way. On the 9th Day, she finished Mahisasura and his whole army.
