NCB seizes 532 gm Methamphetamine in Goa, arrests two

In Panaji, the NCB has seized 532 gm of Methamphetamine from two individuals in a drug trafficking bust. The operation was conducted following inputs about an interstate drugs syndicate operating in Goa, targeting the state as a tourist destination for drug supply.

Amit Ghawate, Additional Director of NCB-Goa, stated that the agency received intelligence about a locally-operated syndicate looking to supply drugs in Goa. Various sources were alerted to detect any such activity, leading to the interception of J. Singh, a Rajasthan-based individual with suspicious linkages in Goa.

After confirming the possession of drugs in bulk quantity, the NCB-Goa team confiscated 532 gm of Methamphetamine from Singh. An associate of Singh, R. Singh, was also apprehended for providing logistical support to the primary suspect. Singh, who returned to India from abroad last year, admitted to wanting to make quick money through the narcotics business.

The NCB’s successful operation highlights the agency’s efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region. The arrest of the individuals involved in the syndicate serves as a deterrent to others looking to exploit tourist destinations like Goa for drug supply. The agency continues to monitor and investigate such activities to ensure the safety and security of the state’s residents and visitors.
