With the latest developments in Noida, metro feeder-cum-city bus services will start in Greater Noida and Noida. In the first phase, around 30 air-conditioned minibuses with 24 sitting seats will be rolled out on 9 routes under a public-private partnership.

Out of these 9 routes, 4 will be connected to Noida’s Aqua metro line while the 2 will connect to Greater Noida and 3 will connect these two cities with each other. However, the bus services are meant to provide better connectivity to the city’s metro stations and will function just like other bus services in Greater Noida and Noida stated by the officials. Currently, due to the absence of regular bus services that connect with the city, the public has to rely on app-based cabs, private vehicles as well as auto-rickshaws. Last year, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) issued a tender regarding an operator for bus services in the city for the next 10 years with a self-sustainable model. As per the operator term, the operator will have to operate, finance, and maintain the buses and make its revenue through fares, ads on depots, buses and queue shelters.
NMRC executive director Anand Vardhan said, “We have sent the changes proposed by the two authorities to the operator. But we will go ahead with the Authority’s requirements and prepare the infrastructure. Once we get NMRC’s approval, the service will be rolled out within 45-60 days.”
