New Zealand unable to call on Allen and Milne for Pakistan T20Is; Blundell and Foulkes step up

New Zealand’s T20 series against Pakistan faces a setback as Finn Allen and Adam Milne are ruled out due to injuries. Allen suffered a back injury while Milne sustained an ankle injury during training. Tom Blundell and Zak Foulkes are called in as replacements, with Foulkes showcasing his talent in the Super Smash season.

Head coach Gary Stead expressed his sympathy for Allen and Milne, stating their importance in the T20 format. The support staff and medical networks will work on their treatment and return to cricket. The team is set to depart for Pakistan on Friday for the series starting on April 18 in Rawalpindi.

Tom Bruce was also considered for selection but opted out for family reasons and to honor his contract with Lancashire. The replacements are gearing up for the upcoming series, aiming to fill the void left by Allen and Milne. Foulkes’ impressive performance in the Super Smash season adds depth to the squad for the challenging series ahead.
