No plans to manufacture Phone (2a) in India
London-based tech brand, Nothing, announced on Saturday that it will manufacture its latest smartphone, Phone (2a), in India. The company aims to tap into the country’s manufacturing ecosystem, investing in the local economy and creating job opportunities.
Nothing stated, “The designed for India, Nothing Phone (2a) has been engineered with a focus on providing the optimal daily smartphone experience, doubling down on core user needs, and incorporating all of Nothing’s design innovation, expertise, and craftsmanship.”
The Phone (2a) will include features from Phone (2) and is set to be launched in India on March 5. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has been announced as the brand face of smartphones. The event will be live-streamed from Delhi.
The Phone (2a) will be powered by a custom Dimensity 7200 Pro processor co-engineered with MediaTek to provide high performance with optimal power consumption. Nothing, founded in 2020, has released three audio products, two smartphones, and a sub-brand called CMF by Nothing.
