Noida Aqua Line Metro: Minimum Balance For Smart Card Revised To Rs 50
In the latest development in noida, the minimum balance for the aqua line metro card has been increased to Rs 50 from Rs 10 by the NMRC. Ritu Maheswari, Managing Director of NMRC stated that the balance has been increased to tackle the issues faced by the commuters while a their departure from the metro station. The new decision will come into full effect by January 16th.

Before that, the minimum balance for the metro card was Rs 10 and that can be easily used to enter any metro station. However, after travelling to just two metro stations the passengers had to face minor issues while exiting the next metro station. It was due to insufficient balance on the card.
In order to overcome the problem NMRC decided to raise the balance to Rs 50. Plus, the number of commuters has increased in the Greater Noida and Noida metro stations due to Auto Expo in India Expo Mart.
Earlier back in June, they make the metro station more accessible, and the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) proposed a new route that will connect Noida’s Botanical Garden and Sector-142. As per the concerned authority, a meeting was conducted under the guidance of NMRC’s Managing Director Ritu Maheshwari regarding the metro rail issues. The outcome of the meeting was to make the required changes in the proposal by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the Noida Metro.
Currently, the Noida, aqua line connects Greater Noida and Noida which consists of 21 stations covering a distance of 29.7 km. According to NMRC in-charge Nisha Wadhwa, one more corridor will connect Greater Noida (West) and Noida has also been initiated and will be named Noida extension. While the other metro between Botanical Garden and Noida Sector-142 is in its final stages.
