Noida board to meet on Saturday, pet policy likely to be discussed

On Wednesday, the Noida authority informed us about the board meeting to be scheduled for tomorrow. The main aim of this meeting is to take vital actions for the overall development of society including a “pet policy” that governs the stray as well as pet animals in societies. 

Ritu Maheshwari, Authority Chief executive officer instructed all departments to come up with an agenda and motive that will be discussed in the meeting song with the approval of the members.

This time, authorities are also preparing a “pet policy” to handle the ongoing disturbances and incidents caused by stray dogs in Noida. Recently, dog feeders and other residents had a standoff causing a lot of disturbance in the city. The officials will also be discussing the problems of commercial properties, and sanitation employees with a budget for the chilla elevated road along a few other topics too. 

“We will put multiple proposals before the board for discussion. It is up to the board to take a decision on these issues,” said Maheshwari.

Recently, a child got injured when attacked by a dog in Sector 100 housing society while one woman got injured in Sector 137 housing complex after being attacked by a dog. With the ongoing incident related to stray dogs attacking the general public, multiple protests were seen and demanded to look into the dog policy. 

“We have defined what a pet dog owner needs to do in terms of registration, vaccination, sanitation and safety. But we cannot discuss the provisions of the policy because it is to be discussed during the board meeting. Once approved by the board, we will share the details of the policy,” said a Noida authority official, asking not to be named.
