Noida International Airport: Everything You Need To Know About

Uttar Pradesh will soon get one more magnificent infrastructure to show to the world. Noida International airport building at Jewar will change the public’s outlook on airports. 

With one more airport in Delhi NCR, it will boost the commencement of more flights along with tourism thus enhancing the country’s economy. It will be developed by Flughafen Zurich AG (Zurich Airport) south of Greater Noida consisting four-phase master plan with the capacity of handling 60 million passengers annually. The project’s final phase includes 2 runways that will be later expanded into six runways along with 4 terminals – making it the biggest airport in India.

About Noida International airport

On November 25, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation of this airport. The ongoing project will be completed by 2024. Back in 2020, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved the airport’s design, and name, along with a logo for Noida International Airport. The brand logo is inspired by Sarus Crane – the state bird of UP – in flight. 

In October 2020, the Uttar Pradesh government and Zurich Airport signed a 40-year concession agreement after the highest bids were placed of Rs 400.97 per passenger, beating Adani Enterprises, DIAL, and Anchorage Infra (Fairfax). The airport will be located east of the Yamuna Expressway in Gautam Buddha Nagar, i.e 70 km away from Delhi’s airport – Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. 

Transportation at Noida International airport

As per reports, the airport will be accessible to Greater Noida via a new metro line along with a new station Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train) project, 886km. Additionally, 31km long road will also be in the line that will be built by NHAI linking the airport with the under construction 1350 km Delhi – Mumbai Expressway. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is also gearing up with a new metro line that will link Knowledge Park II and Jewar airport.
