The Noida metro rail corporation is now adding parking stations at 5 more stations to help the public on Aqua Line between Greater Noida and Noida, as well as on the Delhi metro, stated an official on Sunday. Earlier, the service was only allowed on 3 Metro Stations i.e., Sector Delta 1 in Greater Noida, Sector 51 in Noida, and Sector 137 in Greater Noida.

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) handles the Aqua Line of 30km and will start its parking services in 5 stations from May 1. The stations include Greater Noida’s Pari Chowk, Noida’s Sector 51, Sector 142, and Sector NSEZ. “NMRC plans to provide parking facilities at all 21 of its Metro stations as ridership grows and demand for parking space grows,” said Ritu Maheshwari, NMRC’s managing director. NMRC will be operating the 29.7 km long Aqua Line Metro connecting Greater Noida’s Delta 1 area to Noida’s Sector 51.
Every parking station will be able to cater to around 300 vehicles, as per NMRC- “Because these stations did not have parking, commuters had to take a taxi or an auto-rickshaw to get there. We can now use our vehicles for last-mile connectivity and easily access the Metro. Therefore, NMRC must provide parking facilities at all Metro stations as soon as possible,” said Poonam Kumar, a daily commuter and sector 118 resident.
Earlier, before 2023, in January, The daily average ride using Aqua Line was 40,000. NMRC stated 56,168 passengers used the metro to travel on 16th January 2023. As per the officials. The number of daily commuters has increased since January thus promoting NMRC to build parking spaces on busy stations surrounded by clusters of housing complexes. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Aqua Line in 2019. It consists total of 21 metro stations.
