Noida police commissioner Laxmi Singh directs officers to take strict action against traffic rule violators

Laxmi Singh Noida’s Police Commissioner has instructed the police authority to inform strict action against people who are not following traffic rules. Laxmi Singh is the new police commissioner of Gautam Buddh Nagar and reviewed the area along with Jagat Farm and Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. She also talked to officers to improvise the traffic situation in the area. She also paid a visit to the area in Sector 96 in Noida where recently a woman lost her life when she got hit by a speeding Jaguar car. Ganesh Saha, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) stated that the police commissioner has informed the traffic department to lay more emphasis on lane management where there are a lot of issues of traffic congestion.

“While inspecting traffic and security arrangements in busy areas like Pari Chowk and Jagat Farm, the police commissioner issued necessary guidelines regarding traffic arrangements to the officers concerned,” said an official statement.

In order to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid traffic congestion, a new route map will be made in coordination with the concerned officials of the Greater Noida Authority. Separate routes will be made based on different vehicles (goods-carrying vehicles, trucks, inter-state buses and small vehicles), police said.

“While issuing necessary guidelines to the police officers and personnel for improving the traffic system, the CP also told them to take strict action against the drivers who violate the traffic rules and challan them under the Motor Vehicle Act,” according to the statement.

“Lane management helps reduce congestion and crashes. We have implemented it on the DND route and this will help bring down a number of accidents and congestion in winter,” Saha told PTI.

The DCP stated that the traffic police have been putting penalties on people who are breaking traffic rules and violating rules during lane changes “We are also issuing challans for violations during lane changing. Also, amid concerns of people’s safety, we are planning to soon take action against unauthorised people offering rides for money,” Saha added.
