Ullu Actress Noor Malabika Das Dies by Suicide at 37; Hangs Herself at Her Mumbai Home

Noor Malabika Das, 37, a prominent actress who appeared in different web series on OTT platforms was found dead in her rented apartment.

The prominent actress allegedly committed suicide but the exact reason behind her death is still being investigated.

According to the Police, the neighbors of the actress noticed a foul smell emanating from her apartment and reported the matter to the Oshiwara Police.

The police then broke into the apartment and found the decomposed body of the actress hanging from the ceiling fan.

Police collected medicines, a mobile phone and a diary but did not find any suicide note.

The body was in a decomposed condition and was sent to Goregaon’s Siddharth Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Multiple attempts by the Police to contact the actress’s family were unsuccessful.

The Police finally performed the deceased actress’ final rites with the help of Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO who oversee the cremation of unclaimed bodies in the city on June 9.

A police officer stated, “We contacted her family, who had returned to their native place two weeks ago. Investigations are ongoing.” 

Noor Malabika Das, formerly an Air Hostess with Qatar Airways, hailed from the state of Assam.

Later she acted in several successful adult web series streamed on OTT platforms like the Ullu app.

Prominent web series in which the actress acted include- Background Hustle, Teekhi Chatni, Dekhi Andekhi, Siskiyaan, Jaghanya Upaya, Walkaman, Charamsukh, and more. Her forthcoming projects include ‘The Good Wife’ for Amazon Prime. The series also featured Kajol and Jisshu Sengupta.

A close friend of Noor, actor Aloknath Pathak, said,

“I am saddened by this. I have known Noor for years and worked with her in many films and series. Until last month, her family was living with her in Mumbai. The family returned to the village a week ago. She was living in this flat on rent.”
