Malaysian Olympian Nur Dhabitah Sabri’s Degrading Photos Go Viral, Husband Takes Legal Action

Malaysian Olympian Nur Dhabitah Sabri’s husband, Mohammad Aizat Ahmad Nazri, has stated that he will take legal action against the person who edited and uploaded degrading photos of Nur Dhabitah Sabri.

Mohammad Aizat Ahmad, who is a well-known Malaysian actor-comedian and also known as Jiggy Masin, came across two such pictures of his wife, Nur Dhabitah, who made it to the semifinals of the women’s 3m springboard diving event at the Paris Olympics on August 8.

She advanced to the finals on August 9 and finished in 12th position.

What did Nur Dhabitah Sabri’s husband say?

According to the Utusan report, Mohammad Aizat said:

“Based on statements by an investigating officer and a lawyer, a legal notice has been issued to the individual. I will go ahead with taking action because what this individual has done is too much.”

Nur Dhabitah Sabri’s husband had earlier expressed frustration on social media over Nur Dhabitah Sabri’s degrading photos, which were obviously edited by a person, and the fake pictures soon became a topic of discussion online.

Mohammad Aizat stated:

“If it’s just disparaging comments towards me, I can still be patient. But the images have reached an insulting and degrading level.”

He also expressed hope that despite receiving a lot of negative comments online, Nur Dhabitah will remain resilient.

As per another report, Nur Dhabitah Sabri’s husband had tried to contact the individual on Facebook, but the account can no longer be found.

He added that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Royal Malaysia Police, and the Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development will also look into the matter.

National diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri was trolled with lewd pictures, which soon became viral on the internet.

Meanwhile, Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has appealed to critics to stop commenting on Malaysian athletes over their attire.

She was reacting to the images of national diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri that were edited to make them lewd and uploaded by a person. She also asked people not to impose their preferences on national athletes.

In a Facebook post, she said:

“They have one priority alone — to excel in their sports.”
