Omar Abdullah announces candidates for three LS seats following Eid

Former J&K Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) vice president, Omar Abdullah, announced that the party would reveal its candidates for three Lok Sabha seats in Kashmir post the Eid festival, likely falling around April 10. The three seats of Anantnag-Rajouri, Srinagar, and Baramulla will participate in the elections.

Omar Abdullah addressed reporters saying, “What is the hurry? Let us celebrate the Eid. NC will announce its candidates for 3 Lok Sabha seats in Valley at an appropriate time.” He also criticized the BJP for its alliances with Chirag Paswan in Bihar and Raj Thackeray in Maharashtra, while opposing dynastic politics.

During his interaction, Omar Abdullah also refused to comment on Chaudhary Lal Singh, a Jammu division-based politician who recently joined Congress, stating it was an internal matter of the Congress party. The Lok Sabha seats in Kashmir will go to polls in the third, fourth, and fifth phase of the elections.

Omar Abdullah emphasized that he is proud to oppose the BJP, highlighting the party’s double standards in criticizing dynastic politics while forming alliances with certain regional leaders. The announcement of candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in Kashmir will be made after the Eid festival, ensuring a strategic timing for the upcoming elections.
