In a bid to boost the country’s oil exploration efforts, Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri urged ONGC to leverage cutting-edge technologies like AI and Data Analytics for sustainability and reduced environmental impact. Speaking at the golden jubilee celebrations of the Mumbai High oil discovery, the minister expressed satisfaction with ONGC’s efforts and encouraged the company to lead exploration in the sedimentary basins.
Addressing the event, ONGC Chairman Arun Kumar Singh highlighted the company’s intensified production plans and significant investments for exploration, expressing hope for discovering a new field akin to Mumbai High soon. The Chairman also reiterated ONGC’s commitment to exhaustively explore every opportunity within Mumbai High until every last drop of oil is recovered.
Furthermore, the minister commended ONGC’s new ISPHEM facility in Goa, which is recognized as a world-class establishment ensuring safety in the E&P industry. The occasion also saw ONGC honoring past leaders and young achievers contributing to Mumbai High’s development, as well as the screening of a short film titled “ONGC Promise” depicting the company’s journey through the perspective of a veteran ONGCian portrayed by actor Paresh Rawal.
Puri emphasized the importance of blending experience with fresh perspectives to enhance production and rejuvenate plans, while Singh reiterated ONGC’s dedication to maximizing resource utilization. Both the minister and the Chairman’s remarks underscored the strategic path for further advancements to bolster the nation’s growth in the oil and natural gas sector.
