Operation Sea Spray Revisited? Mysterious Fog Sparks Conspiracy Theories of Bioweapon Experiment
In the mid-20th century, the US Government initiated a top-secret project titled “Operation Sea Spray”.
The project involved a U.S. Navy minesweeper ship spraying benign bacteria Serratia marcescens and Bacillus globigii.
Industrial hoses were used to spray the pathogens into the atmosphere off the coast of Northern California.

The experiment was conducted to check how big cities would react to a biological weapons attack. Fast forward to present times, a mysterious fog is enveloping parts of the globe particularly the UK, the USA, and Canada.
The unusual fog cover is spawning conspiracy theories and people are reminded of Operation Sea Spray and wondering if the fog is just another covert operation conducted by the US Government.

Conspiracy theories are flying thick and fast. A section of people are labeling the phenomenon due to alien activities while some others feel that it is a chemical spill or a bioweapon experiment.
Another term which has become viral is “Fogvid-24” somewhat akin to COVID-19 and the word is justified because a lot of people are getting ill and suffering from flu-like symptoms after exposure to the fog.
The internet is full of comments with users comparing the thick fog to Operation Sea Spray conducted in 1950.
A person wrote on X,
“Guys, they dumped a bunch of microbes on the country this week, in the form of fog. I know it sounds tinfoil, but my Spidey senses are telling me they are seeding the skies with pathogens that make us sick. Operation Sea-Spray 4.0 (December 24-31, 2024),”
A second person wrote,

Many users are reminded that the US has a long history of germ warfare experiments which was conducted on American citizens without their knowledge.
They also stated that the government did not say anything about Operation Sea Spray for 70 years.
The Government may be up to something in recent times with strange drones and fog enveloping certain parts of the country.
