Pak President rejects summary to summon National Assembly session

Islamabad, Feb 26 (IANS) Pakistan President Arif Alvi has rejected a summary to summon the National Assembly session, sources said. The President stated that all reserved seats should be allocated first before the session, causing criticism from political parties like PPP and PML-N for delaying tactics.

With only three days left to summon the session of the National Assembly, President Alvi has been criticized for not convening the session. A summary for the session was sent four days ago, but there has been no official response from Alvi, according to Dawn.

PPP and PML-N leaders have voiced their disapproval of the President’s actions, with PPP leader Shazia Marri stating, “President Alvi should not be loyal to an individual but the Constitution.” She warned that if the session is not summoned within the prescribed period, the President will be remembered as a violator of the Constitution, as reported by Dawn.
