Palestinian Woman Rania Abu Anza Lost Her Baby Twins In Israeli Air Strike

Late Saturday, 02 March 2024, a Israeli strike hit the extended family of Rania Abu Anza in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

The air strike resulted in the killing of Rania Abu’s 12 relatives including her husband. Local health officials and survivors stated that nine of her other relatives were missing under the rubble.

Rania Abu Anza woke up on Saturday night around 10 p.m. to breastfeed her baby son, Naeim. She went to sleep holding both her babies in both arms when the air strike hit. The baby girl, Wissam, and baby boy Naeim were not even six months old. However, they became among the 14 people who lost their lives overnight.

In the same air strike, Rania Abu Anza lost her two infant twins. The Palestinian woman lamented and announced that she went through a total of three rounds of fertility treatment of in vitro fertilization over 10 years to become pregnant, reported The Sydney Morning Herald.

However, her pain of ten years and happiness of having twins finally took only a few seconds to get destroyed. Her twins were only five months old, a girl and a boy who couldn’t survive the carnage in the Gaza Strip, reported The New Arab.

Ground News reported that the mother shed floods of tears on Sunday, grabbed her lifeless babies, and cried, “Who will call me mother from now on? Who will call me mother?”

All the dead persons were Abu Anza’s members of the family.

The Israeli military did not respond to the occurrence of the Rafah strike immediately.

Israel’s Rania Abu Anza Campaign Intentions

Israel mentioned that they intend to eliminate all the Hamas fighters.

However, Shehda Abu Anza claimed that his house belonged to his uncle and was comprised of civilians only.

Shehda Abu Anza further added, “They were sleeping at eleven o’clock at night. All of them children. Honestly, there was no military presence in the house, only civilians.” Arafat Abu Anza, another relative also shouted, “No soldiers, only civilians.”

According to Dawn, nearly 1.5 million Palestinian refugees in Rafah have raised the number of mass casualties in the region. Thus, Israel plans to carry on a planned invasion. Mediators are trying to stop the fighting before March 10 or 11 for Ramazan as per the lunar calendar.

Any deal offered to Rania Abu Anza would not be enough to lose both her infant twins after struggling for ten years to have babies. She stated,

“I asked the rescuers to search for my kids in the rubble. They pulled them. They told me, ‘Your children are dead’.”
