Pankaj Advani and David Causier advance to last 16 in CCI Billiards Classic

World Champion Pankaj Advani and former World Champion David Causier secured their spots in the pre-quarterfinals of the All-India CCI Billiards Classic 2024 with third successive wins. Advani defeated Raayan Razmi, while Causier dominated against Mahesh Jagdale in the Group-A and Group-C matches, respectively, at the CCI’s Wilson Jones Billiards Hall.

In a thrilling two-hour session, Advani showcased his prowess with a 603-418 win over Razmi, starting with a run of 235 and a break of 90. On the other hand, Causier displayed his skill with substantial breaks, including 203, 124, 160, 152, 162, 93, and 70, to secure a huge 1168-418 win over Jagdale.

Additionally, Sourav Kothari defeated Alok Kumar with an impressive 889-200 victory in a Group-F match, while Siddharth Parikh and Arun Agrawal also advanced to the knockout round with their wins in Group-H matches. Parikh topped the group with three successive wins, displaying steady breaks of 183, 71, 96, and 72, while Agrawal produced breaks of 157, 61, 95, and 79 in his win.

In other results, Kamal Chawla beat Rishabh Thakkar 503-267, and Dhruv Sitwala defeated Shahyan Razmi 817-196 in Group-E matches. The competition at the CCI continues to intensify as the top players battle it out for a spot in the later stages of the tournament.
