Pant Admits Delhi Capitals Bowlers Struggled in 106-run Loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024

In a disappointing performance, Delhi Capitals suffered a heavy 106-run defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024. KKR posted the second-highest score in IPL history at ACA-VDCA Stadium, with captain Rishabh Pant admitting that his bowlers were not at their best.

Sunil Narine, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Andre Russell, and Rinku Singh played blistering innings for KKR, contributing to their massive total of 272. DC’s decision not to review caught-behind appeals against Narine and Shreyas Iyer proved costly.

Pant expressed his disappointment with his team’s bowling performance, stating, “Our bowlers were all over the place. We just didn’t turn up on the day.” DC’s use of only one over of spin bowling and Pant’s positive batting performance were highlights of the match.

Despite Pant and Tristan Stubbs’ efforts with the bat, DC was all out for 166. Pant, who hit five sixes and four boundaries, emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes and staying positive for the next match against Mumbai Indians.

After maintaining a slow over rate, Pant and other members of DC’s Playing XI were fined, with the captain facing the risk of suspension for one match if another slow-over rate penalty is incurred. DC currently sits at ninth place and will face Mumbai Indians in their next match at Wankhede Stadium.
