Pawan Kalyan escapes unharmed in stone attack at poll rally

Amaravati, April 14 (IANS) Jana Sena Party leader and Tollywood actor Pawan Kalyan escaped unhurt when someone pelted a stone at him during campaigning in Guntur district on Sunday. The incident occurred during the Varahi yatra supporting TDP-JSP-BJP candidates, sparking tension at the rally. JSP workers handed the perpetrator over to the police.

The stone-throwing incident involving Pawan Kalyan came a day after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was injured by a stone while campaigning in Vijayawada. The YSRCP chief sustained an injury to his left eyebrow, receiving immediate first aid. Another MLA also sustained an injury in the eye during the attack.

Both incidents highlight the tense campaigning atmosphere in Andhra Pradesh ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections scheduled for May 13. The incidents also raise concerns about the safety and security of political leaders and the need for increased vigilance during election rallies.

The incidents involving Pawan Kalyan and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy serve as a reminder of the potential risks and challenges faced by political leaders while engaging with the public during election campaigns. Authorities must take necessary measures to ensure the safety of all candidates and supporters to prevent such incidents in the future.
