A video has become viral on the internet which shows a squirrel running on the stage, seconds before Kamala Harris was to deliver her concession speech. The viral video has sparked immense interest on the internet with many netizens claiming it to be the return of Instagram sensation Peanut who was recently euthanized by New York authorities.
For the unversed, Peanut was a pet squirrel and an Instagram sensation that was seized by New York authorities and later euthanized on suspicion of carrying the rabies virus. The pet squirrel along with another pet raccoon, Fred belonged to Mark Longo and was seized from the owner’s residence and it triggered a massive outrage on the internet.
Squirrel Appears Just Before Kamala Harris’s Concession Speech, Stirring Reactions
A squirrel made an unusual appearance across the stage, minutes before Kamala Harris, and the Democratic Party nominee who lost the US Presidential race was to deliver her concession speech at Howard University on Wednesday.

The video of the appearance of the squirrel started a meme fest on the internet with many netizens and one X user stated,
“The spirit of Peanut came back for Kamala Harris’s concession speech just to remind the Democrats not to ever mess with the squirrels again.”
Another user stated,
‘Peanut the squirrel’ had come back.”
A third user stated,
“Omg!! Peanut!!!! bnWe got you bro! “
Another X user commented,
“The ghost off peanut the squirrel showed up to haunt Kamala at her ‘I failed’ speech.”
One user declared ominously,
“When do you ever see a squirrel inside of a political building? Rarely, if ever. This is a clear message. Life, the Divine, communicates in many ways. So what is the message here and to whom? I concur, the spirit of Peanut had something to do with this event,”
Longo run a non-profit animal sanctuary for destitute and orphaned animals and stated that his animals were his long-time companions and the main inspiration behind his efforts.
Longo stated to the media house the Post,
“This is much bigger than a squirrel and a raccoon. This is about government overreach. We want justice for what transpired at my home. You violated my home. You assassinated my animals,”
The euthanizing of the 7-year-old squirrel created a huge controversy and a backlash even from President-elect Donald Trump and his soon-to-be vice president JD Vance.
