Pim Apatsara, Thailand Model, Faces-Year Jail Sentence and Fine Or Both over Upskirt Photos Taken at Royal Monument

A Thailand model, Pim Apatsara, 22, has received a jail sentence for five years for clicking her “upskirt” photos.

As per TimesNow, she posed on Sunday, in front of a royal monument in Bangkok, the King Rama I statue, and captioned the picture as “Please visit my city.”

A police complaint was registered against her by furious indigenous people.

The model shared her exposing provocative pictures on social media. 

The commander of Buriram Provincial Police, Police Major General Rutthaphol Naowarat, issued orders to summon the model to the main police station. 

A search warrant was issued for Apatsara to present her on Monday.

The images of the model were clicked from a low angle.

It featured Apatsara wearing a brown skirt and red top.

Moreover, as she stood on the stairs in front of the statue, her striped underwear was also clearly visible. 

Chamras Sirileang, the superintendent of Mueang Buriram Police Station stated,

“After the photos were seen online, the investigation team identified the user. It was found that her behavior had affected the respect and beliefs of residents, causing great anger.”

Later, the Thai model shared another picture where she could be spotted paying respect to King Rama I. She apologized for offending the emotions of is public unintentionally.

Moreover, Apatsara added that her motive was to promote her city so that more people would visit Bangkok, reported New York Post.

The model said,

“Shortly after posting the pictures on my social media account, I received severe criticism from people. Some of them were targeting my parents, which was unacceptable, as I didn’t know that what I did was not a crime.”

She added,

“I did not think carefully about what I did. I have apologized and warned others to be aware when posting something involving people’s beliefs and feelings.”

Chamras Sirileang, the Police Colonel, added that the 22-year-old Pim Apatsara is also charged with “possession of pornographic material on her computer.”

Thus, the model received a fine of up to ₹100,000 baht, imprisonment up to five years, or both. She was also fined another 500 baht for causing public obscenity.
