PKL 10: Haryana Steelers cruise into semis after beating Gujarat Giants 42-25

The Haryana Steelers clinched their first-ever playoffs victory in a spectacular manner by defeating Gujarat Giants 42-25 in the Eliminator match of Season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday. The Steelers will now face Jaipur Pink Panthers in the semifinals. The raiding duo of Vinay and Shivam Patare shined, but Mohit Nandal was the star with 7 tackle points.

The Steelers started the game on a high note, dominating the Giants from the start. Vinay and Shivam Patare’s impressive raiding skills resulted in the Steelers securing an early seven-point lead by inflicting the first All-Out of the game on the Giants.

Despite the initial setback, the Giants fought back and managed to take a one-point lead through a Super Raid by Parteek Dahiya, leading to an All-Out on the Steelers. However, a battle of attrition ensued towards the end of the first half, with the Steelers’ defense, led by Mohit Nandal, holding strong and reclaiming the lead to go into halftime with a 21-16 advantage.

The second half saw the Steelers stepping up their game, forcing a second All-Out on the Giants early on. Vinay and Patare continued to rack up points, with Vinay’s Super Raid widening the lead further. The Steelers maintained their dominance throughout the final ten minutes, thwarting any chance of a Giants’ comeback to secure a convincing 42-25 victory and a spot in the semifinals.
