PM Modi to Begin Two-Day Visit to Assam, Unveiling Projects Worth Rs 18,000 Cr

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam on Friday to inaugurate projects worth Rs 18,000 crore. He will land in Tezpur and visit Kaziranga National Park before heading to Arunachal Pradesh. PM Modi will also unveil an 84-foot-tall statue of Ahom warrior Lachit Borphukan in Jorhat.

During his visit, PM Modi will virtually inaugurate key projects in Assam, including the B. Baruah Cancer Institute’s Child Care Unit and the Tinsukia Medical College. He will also lay the foundation stone for a medical college in Sivasagar, and launch expansion projects for the Guwahati and Digboi Refineries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to land in Assam’s Tezpur Airport on Friday at 4 p.m. From there, he will visit the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. PM Modi will spend the night at the Kohora Range of the National Park’s Assam Police Guest House before going on a safari on Saturday morning.

After his visit to Kaziranga, PM Modi will return to Assam’s Jorhat to inaugurate the statue of Lachit Borphukan at Hollonga Pathar. He will also virtually inaugurate projects at a public gathering in Jorhat, including the B. Baruah Cancer Institute’s Child Care Unit and the Tinsukia Medical College. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a new medical college in Sivasagar.

The Prime Minister will also launch expansion projects for the Guwahati Refinery and the Digboi Refinery, costing Rs 510 crore and Rs 768 crore respectively. The Rs 3,992 crore pipeline project from Barauni to Guwahati will also be inaugurated by PM Modi. This visit is seen as a significant step towards boosting infrastructure and development in Assam.
