PM Modi to campaign in Assam and Tripura in LS polls today

New Delhi, April 17 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up for campaign rallies in Assam and Tripura on Wednesday as the Lok Sabha elections draw near. In Assam, he will address an event in Nalbari at 11:00 a.m. followed by a rally in Tripura’s Agartala at 2:00 p.m.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is also expected to address public rallies in Kerala today. Scheduled timings include 11:20 a.m. in Kasargod, 3:25 p.m. in Vadakara, and 4:55 p.m. in Kannur. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will hold a joint press conference in Ghaziabad at 9 a.m. before Rahul Gandhi’s visits to Karnataka for public gatherings in Mandya and Kolar.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is set to address a public meeting in Nagina, Uttar Pradesh at 1:10 p.m. AAP leader Sanjay Singh will also be present at the event. BSP chief Mayawati will be in Alwar, Rajasthan for an election rally. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will lead a roadshow in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will support INDIA bloc’s Lok Sabha poll candidate Hanuman Beniwal in Nagaur with a public meeting.
