PM Modi to start Lok Sabha campaign in Bihar; Home Minister Amit Shah to conduct roadshows in Tamil Nadu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to begin NDA’s Lok Sabha election campaign in Bihar with a public rally in Jamui, the stronghold of Chirag Paswan. NDA partner LJP-Ram Vilas has fielded Chirag Paswan’s brother-in-law Arun Bharti from the Jamui Lok Sabha seat.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will kick off his two-day visit to Tamil Nadu by campaigning for NDA candidates from five Lok Sabha seats. Meanwhile, the BJP manifesto committee, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, will meet later today in the national capital.

BJP National President J.P. Nadda has a packed schedule with public meetings in Uttarakhand, a meeting with the party’s core committee, and a roadshow in Haridwar. In another development, Jharkhand Congress MLA Amba Prasad and her brother Ankit Raj are summoned by the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in a money laundering case.

On the political front, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is celebrating its 45th foundation day in Hazaribagh. Former Bihar MP Pappu Yadav announces his plans to file nomination for the Purnea Lok Sabha seat as an Independent candidate. And the CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury is set to release the party’s manifesto.

In other news, Union Minister Smriti Irani will hold a roadshow in Kerala, while Haryana’s DGP Shatrujeet Kapoor inaugurates a conference in Faridabad. Actor-politician Hema Malini will file her nomination from Mathura, and Congress is expected to announce its Haryana candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

The JEE-Main session 2 entrance test will kick off today till April 12, and Gujarat Titans will face Punjab Kings in the 17th Match of IPL 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
