Poonam Pandey Passes Away Battling Terminal Cervical Cancer

Well-known social media personality, model turned model-turned-actress Poonam Pandey is dead. As per a statement released by her manager Parul Chawla, Poonam Pandey succumbed to cervical cancer. Her cancer was diagnosed at a late stage and it had become terminal. She was just 32.

As per a statement shared by her manager Parul Chawla on her official Instagram page, Poonam Pandey succumbed to advanced-stage Cervical cancer on Friday. Her manager shared the news on India Today and also disclosed that she died battling the last stages of cervical cancer which was detected some time back.

Poonam Pandey breathed her last in her hometown in Uttar Pradesh and her last rites will be held in her hometown.

The actress made her Bollywood debut in the film ‘Nasha’ in 2013. Poonam Pandey has appeared in Kannada and Telugu movies such as ‘Love Is Poison’, ‘Malini & Co’.  However she was recognized for her appearance in numerous reality shows which included the much acclaimed reality show, ‘Lock Up’. She was a multifaceted personality and had a prominent presence in social media platforms. She was also involved in several philanthropic ventures.

The statement posted on Pandey’s Instagram handle read,

“This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared (sic).”

The news was received with much shock and disbelief with many netizens taking to social media and wondering if it was a hoax and fake news. However, the news has since been confirmed by her team as well as her manager.

Poonam Pandey was one of the media personalities who was very vocal on the ongoing diplomatic tussle between India and Maldives and had even canceled a photo shoot to express solidarity with the Indian Government. Poonam Pandy is also well known for her bold photo shoots which had her fans gasping and asking for more. She also gained a lot of notoriety for promising to go nude if India won the 2011 ICC World Cup.
