Popular Instagram Influencer Adithya S Nair from Kerala Dies by Suicide Following Cyberbullying After Breakup
It has been confirmed by the authorities at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital that popular Instagram influencer Adithya S Nair from Kerala has passed away. Ms. Adithya was on life support after attempting suicide due to severe cyberbullying following her breakup. The police have arrested her former boyfriend Binoy, 21, who is also a social influencer, under the stringent provisions of the POCSO Act for having a physical relationship with a minor.

The 18-year-old Instagram influencer Adithya S Nair was a student in Class 12 at Cottonhill Girls School. She was in a relationship with another Instagram influencer. However, for unknown reasons, the couple broke up, and Adithya started receiving a lot of hate mail and comments on her Instagram, including personal abuse. The trolling led the teen to attempt suicide.
After a complaint by the teen influencer’s parents, the police took into custody her ex-boyfriend, 21-year-old Binoy, an Instagram content creator, from Nedumangad on June 18. A cyber team has also been set up to conduct a thorough investigation.
Adithya and Binoy frequently collaborated to create content for social media. However, it was revealed that in the last four months, their relationship hit a rough patch. The teen’s mother also alleged that Binoy lured her daughter into a relationship. The police conducted a detailed examination of the call records of both the teen and Binoy, and upon finding evidence to support her mother’s claims, the police arrested Binoy.
The police learned from the teen’s relatives that following the breakup, Binoy’s followers used to troll her on social media, leading the teen to fall into depression. The unending trolls caused significant distress, leading her to take the extreme step. Adithya was also facing academic challenges, having recently failed in two subjects in her Plus-II examinations.
The police have also revealed that voice messages from the minor’s friend suggest that Adithya’s parents had scolded her for failing her exams and blamed it on her spending too much time making content for social media. The police are also looking into this angle.
