PVL Season 3: Ahmedabad Defenders beat Hyderabad Black Hawks to continue winning run
Ahmedabad Defenders continued their winning streak in the Prime Volleyball League, defeating Hyderabad Black Hawks 17-15, 15-13, 15-11 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Thursday.
In a thrilling match, Ahmedabad got a solid start with Max Senica leading the charge, while Hyderabad’s Ashamat Ullah served aggressively. Player of the Match Nandhagopal rocked Hyderabad’s defence with thunderous super serves, keeping the game on level terms despite pressure from Hemanth.
Despite impeccable passing from Lal Sujan and left-handed spikes from Ivan Jose, Ahmedabad’s mastermind Muthu controlled the play brilliantly, leading his team to victory. Nandha’s pipe attacks and Angamuthu’s offence caused trouble for the Hawks, ultimately leading to Ahmedabad’s third consecutive win.
Hyderabad fought back with efforts from John Joseph and Sahil Kumar, but birthday boy Stefan Kovacevic’s vital blocks were not enough to stop the Defenders’ dominance. With a crucial block on a super point by L.M Manoj, Ahmedabad sealed their victory in straight sets.
This win further solidifies Ahmedabad Defenders’ position in the Prime Volleyball League, showcasing their spectacular form and dominance on the court. The team’s cohesion and individual brilliance have proven to be a winning combination, as they continue to march towards the PVL title.
